Professional Experience

Dr Winter qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2010 and as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in 2014. She can be found on the HCPC Practitioner Psychologist register (PYL25727) and on the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. Dr Winter has worked in health services since 2000 and with neurological populations since 2005, including ABI/TBI, dementia, epilepsy, neuroinflammatory conditions, and stroke. Her work has included residential and inpatient multidisciplinary rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, psychological support, and neuropsychological assessment to support neurological diagnosis and rehabilitation.

Her expertise is predominantly in diagnostic neuropsychological assessment. Dr Winter is research active and an Honorary Research Fellow in CUBRIC (Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre) with special interests in cognitive diagnostics, cognitive anatomy, and test development. Her current NHS Wales roles are as neuropsychology lead in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and as epilepsy neuropsychology lead in Cardiff & Vale University Health Board.
